About Mr. PopeStudents and parents alike may want to find out a little more about Mr. Pope and you've come to the right place! My name is Elliott Pope and I am the 8th Grade Social Studies teacher and Athletic Director at MILA. This is my first full year in the classroom with the middle grades. Last year I was a 5th Grade Social Studies teacher at MILA from September until June. I am a CMS graduate from Hopewell High School. During my time there I was fortunate enough to play basketball and earn a scholarship to Carson-Newman College! However, someone know I was a better future coach and teacher than player and my career was cut short due to four knee surgeries! (Yea it hurt! LOL)
Outside of the classroom I am fairly easy to find. Look in the gym first! I am entering my fifth year as a coach and have 14 (and counting) players in college. Most of my former players are basketball guys however I have coached a few hard hitting football players on the court as well! Second place you should look is playing with my dog Samson or watching Suits with my incredible fiance! If you cant find me there look around Charleston, SC. The "Holy City" is one of my favorite getaways and it doesn't hurt that it's also one of the most historic cities in America. Lastly I do not want my students to think they are the only ones up late studying and finishing homework. I am currently pursuing my Master in Teaching at UNCC to add to my Bachelor of Arts in History from UNCC as well. So I can relate to the pain of late night studying as well guys! |
